Mapperley Park Bucks Winter Property Trend

AUTUMN and winter are traditionally some of the quietest in the residential property calendar, but an area of Nottingham is bucking the trend according to a local expert.

Neil Scott is a property consultant at FHP Living and he says he has been surprised by the activity in Mapperley Park during the last six weeks compared with previous years.

He said: “You tend to find that the autumn and winter months are very quiet in the residential property market, as people perhaps put off putting their home on the market until the new year.

“Mapperley Park has really surprised us this year, however, and we have put seven new properties onto the open market in the past six weeks – compared with none at all during the same period in 2014. “It’s really quite unusual and indicative of the strength of the market in the area, which is becoming increasingly popular. The demand for properties here has been really strong in recent months.”

The properties to have come to market in recent weeks include one to three bedroom apartments and two to five bedroom homes, with prices ranging from £115,000 to £450,000. “The really attractive thing about Mapperley Park is that there really is something for everyone there, whether that be young professionals looking for an apartment or those on the hunt for a bigger family home,” added Neil.
The most expensive property to have been placed on the market is a five bedroom home on Ebers Road, which Neil says is typical of the properties available in Mapperley Park.

He said: “Mapperley Park is hugely popular with families – it is private, leafy conservation area yet it is within really easy reach of the city centre, which is perfect. We really have had properties flying off the shelves here throughout the summer, and that looks set to continue.
“In recent weeks we have secured sales on everything from £80,000 apartments to £725,000 Edwardian homes, which is indicative of the breadth of properties available here.”
